MIDWEST DIRECT is now MPTQM certified at Cleveland Facility.

Midwest Direct's Cleveland Presort Center has saved customers over 10 million dollars in postage over the past year.

Cleveland, OH, August 22, 2007 - MIDWEST DIRECT's Cleveland mailing center earned certification as a Quality Mailing Partner in the U.S. Postal Service's ® Mail Preparation Total Quality Management (MPTQM) program. With this designation, MIDWEST DIRECT's Cleveland facility joins its Pittsburgh location with this prestigious designation. (Go to http://www.usps.com/mptqm/pmcert.htm for MPTQM-certified mailers.)

"MPTQM certification is a real plus for our clients," said Jim Gebbie, MIDWEST DIRECT CEO. "Our Presort Service Bureau combines mail pieces from several customers to create one presorted mailing, in order to take advantage of discounted postage rates. Our customers saved over 10 million dollars in postage over the last year. In fact, one local health care provider saved over $180,000 in postage during 2007", added Gebbe.

Mail Preparation Total Quality Management (MPTQM) is a program designed to help businesses prepare letter mailings that meet or exceed Postal Service(TM) processing quality standards. Designed by industry mailers, it's a complete system of realistic quality control measures and standardized assessment procedures. It applies to all aspects of the mail preparation process; from the generation and bar-coding of a letter to the final sorting and containerizing that takes place just prior to presenting the mailing to the Postal Service.

MPTQM is based upon three internationally recognized quality methodologies- ISO 9000, the Malcolm Baldridge Performance Excellence criteria, and Total Quality Management. By merging the relevant principles of these programs into MPTQM, commercial mailers and the Postal Service have created a new mailing industry benchmark for customer service and product quality.

Streamlined acceptance process and improved mail quality are only a few advantages to adapting MPTQM to your mail preparation process:

  • Offers certification into a program focused on quality mail preparation
  • Provides access to industry standards that promote more efficient handling of the mail
  • Affords more consistent service
  • Streamlines the acceptance process by reducing the frequency of USPS® verifications
  • Provides review cycles and training that supports continuous improvement and standardized processes
  • Maximizes organization's resources
  • Enables continuous improvement

Certification adds even greater benefits--companies can reduce mailing costs, and decrease the number of mail pieces that are returned as undeliverable.

MPTQM-certification solidifies our position as the area's leading mailer and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to ensure topnotch quality service for our customers," said Rich Gebbie, president.

Midwest Direct is the only NE Ohio facility MPTQM-certified and has been certified the longest in Ohio, since 2001.
